Having irregular periods is not a problem if you are not yet planning on having a family. Women who have longer and irregular menstrual periods do not worry about having regular menstrual cycles and its other side effects as other girls would have. Women who get shorter menstrual cycles may be worried little about it. Those who understand what the menstrual cycle does will worry if they are concerned about getting pregnant if they do not have their periods regularly.

If you are concerned with this, you may want to know what causes irregularity in menstrual periods and what you can do about them. There are ways to solve this problem which can help you become pregnant if you are having irregular cycles.

If you are keen on checking your period and you notice that it does not come regularly, one of the things that you need to know is that there are a lot of women who experience this, too. About one-third of women have this sort of problem at one stage in their lives. The usual cause of this in women is stress. It could be stress from work, financial problems, problems with co-workers, responsibilities at home or other types of stress can also put some problems into getting pregnant.

There are also instances when regular menstrual cycles can be disrupted by simple causes such as having an inadequate diet. A woman's ovulation is controlled by hormones and they are necessary during the fertilization and implantation period. If you do not have a balanced amount of these hormones, it could probably cause problems. A hormone is what causes the ovulation process in a woman's body if a woman does not have sufficient hormones, periods can become irregular. Improper ovulation may not always be the cause of irregularity in periods, but they are always a probable reason when a woman does not get hers regularly.

Artificially induced ovulation can be done through certain drugs but if you are concerned about possible side-effects, you can try the more traditional ones such as progesterone creams, herbs and vitamins which help improve fertility.
