Miscarriage is a very tough phase in every woman's life and a woman passes through physical and emotional stress when she needs to pass through this condition. Losing a baby or the hope of a little one is not an easy incident in your life. A woman wants to return back to her normal life after she has her miscarriage but mostly this is not possible as she has to pass through several physical and emotional problems and irregular periods is very commonly noticed after a miscarriage.

In fact, it is often observed that periods before miscarriage and after this is different. It is usually seen that the menstrual cycle which soon follows after a miscarriage may at least take six weeks to show up and the menstrual flow will be quite heavier than the other periods.

Once a woman conceives, her body starts getting prepared for the changes which it will undergo to accommodate the baby for the next 40 weeks. This includes several hormonal changes so that the baby is supported for its stay inside the womb. Most of the miscarriages are nature's way of stopping the birth of an abnormal child wherein which there may be certain abnormalities with the ova or the sperm that formed the fetus. One of the most common complications during pregnancy is the problem of miscarriages. Undergoing a miscarriage is a very tough thing but women should understand that they can still give birth to a healthy baby even after a miscarriage. One of the most common problems woman face after undergoing a miscarriage is the problem of irregular periods. Emotional stress is a very important reason for the development of irregular periods after miscarriage and they may take a couple of months to rectify.

It has been noted that it may take at least two to three months before your periods gets back to normal after you have suffered a miscarriage. In case, you notice that you do not get periods after your miscarriage, then you should surely seek the advice of a doctor. Irregular periods after miscarriage is mostly caused due to hormonal imbalances in the body and thus testing of the blood will prove to be a good method to detect the imbalance of hormones in your body. Several other known reasons that contribute to irregular periods after miscarriage are weight changes, stress, infection, cysts, polyps, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and many others.
